Willard Coates, 93, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away at Holzer Hospital on February 24, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 28, 1924, in Wayne County, WV, a son to the late Willard Coates Sr. and Ethel Mae Owens Coates. He was an electrician and retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV. He was also a member of Minturn Lodge #19 AF & AM of Point Pleasant. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard & Ethel Coates; his loving wife Macy Coates; and sister, Maudie Chadwick.

He is survived by his son, Alan (Sharon) Coates of Point Pleasant; daughter, Tina (David) Nibert of Point Pleasant; two sisters, Gladys Pack of Kenova, WV, and Regina Ball of Barboursville, WV; two brothers, James (Jean) Coates of Huntington, WV, and Stan (Janet) Coates of Proctorville, OH; grandchildren, Stacie Amburgey, Amy Gerwitz, Scott Nibert, and Lindsay Nibert; great-grandchildren, Bekah Gerwitz, Caity Gerwitz, Kellan Amburgey,  and Rowan Amburgey. He will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 2 PM, with Rev. James Kelly officiating. Burial will in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-2 PM prior to the service.
