Wayne L. Mayes 61 of Ashton, WV passed away Thursday June 25, 2026, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.

He was born August 21, 1964, in Point Pleasant, WV to the late Randall Mayes and Freeda (Stewart) Mayes.

Wayne was a transportations Worker 3 at the State Road Garage. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Freeda Mayes and brother, Dwayne Mayes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda Mayes, Son, Tyler Mayes, Daughter, Sierra Mayes and Josh Humphreys, granddaughters, Paisleigh and Kambrie Mayes. siblings, Patricia (Terry) Meadows, Darrell Mayes and Brenda Whittington, sister-in-law, Teresa Mayes, nephew, Scott (Shelly) Meadows, nieces, Samantha (Michael) Hawk and Jasmine Mayes. he will be greatly missed by his great nephew, great nieces and many family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 29th, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Deal Funeral Home.

Service will be Tuesday June 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jennings (Gig) Page officiating. Burial will follow in Ashton, WV. Ball's Chapel Cemetery
