Wallace Andrew (Wally) Smith, III 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Belpre, Ohio after s short illness. Wally was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on April 20, 1946, to the Late Wallace A. and Inez Marie Smith.
Wally was the oldest of seven children and was always there to help whenever someone needed him, he always had a positive attitude but a quiet but loving spirit. He loved trying new restaurants and giving his review on the food, he loved going to concerts and being so adamant about his lawn looked. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Wally was a lifetime resident of Point Pleasant where he attended Point Pleasant High School and graduate in 1964, while at PPHS Wally played football and basketball. He had a great love of music and especially his bass guitar. He was so proud of children for following his love of music that would have band sessions in his music room.
Wally served in the United States Navy where he earned an E4 rank in Store Keeping. Wally also assigned to the USS Saratoga after completely his obligation to the Navy Wally attended Marshal University to study accounting.
Wally worked as a storeroom attendant with Gavin Power Plant in Cheshire, Ohio until he retired.
Wally is preceded in death by his father Wallace A Smith, Jr and Mother Inez Marie Smith and grandson Terrell Hurt.
Wally is survived by his children Virginia Lynn (Rufus Wright), Wallace Andrew IV, and Alisha Smith; Grandchildren, Keesha, D'Angelo, Cheyenne and expecting a baby grandson Tristan Riffle. Also, his great-grandchildren Jackson, Jaielle, and Legend. Wally leaves behind brothers; William (Tiny), Paul (Neisha), Walter and Chris, also sisters Theresa Silva and Venitta (Herman Mayo and many nieces and nephews that will miss him beyond words.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Social distancing and Facemask's are recommended for everyone's safety.
