It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia R. Kinnaird, who left this world peacefully on December 7, 2024, at the Imogene Dolan Jones Hospice House. Virginia was born on April 12, 1924, in Hogsett,WV (now Gallipolis Ferry, WV), to Charles and Mary Lou (Long) Siders. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Virginia lived a fulfilling life, marked by her devotion to family and her unwavering spirit. In 1941, she married the love of her life, William Wilson Kinnaird, and together they built a family filled with warmth and cherished memories. Virginia was a dedicated homemaker, always ensuring that her home was a haven for her loved ones, complete with good food and a welcoming atmosphere for friends and family alike. Her home was often a gathering place, where laughter and stories were shared, and where anyone who needed a place to stay found a spare bed or couch.

Throughout her life, Virginia was surrounded by the love of her children: Carl Wilson, Patricia Ann (Kinnaird) and Bradley Wears, Janet Louise (Kinnaird) and Roger Martin, Rhetta Elaine (Kinnaird) and Mark Hall, Ronald Lee Kinnaird, and her son-in-law Delbert Stover. She took great pride in her growing family, which includes her special great-granddaughter, Sarah Martin as well as twelve grandchildren, another seventeen great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia's life was not without sorrow; she was preceded in death by her loving husband William, her parents, and several siblings, including brothers Elmer, Charles, Dennis, and John Siders, and sisters Bonnie (Siders) Harless, Doshie (Siders) Sydenstricker, and Mattie (Siders) Litchfield. She also mourned the loss of her half-sisters, Bertha and Beulah Siders, along with her daughters, Ida Mae Kinnaird and Sandra Sue (Kinnaird) Stover. Though their absence is deeply felt, Virginia's spirit will carry on through her family's memories.

While and active member of the Zion Baptist Church, Virginia nurtured her faith throughout her life and found joy in the community she built there. Quilting was one of her cherished hobbies, a creative outlet that allowed her to express her love through the beautiful pieces she crafted for her family and friends.

Virginia R. Kinnaird's life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and resilience. Her selflessness and dedication to her family will be remembered and honored by all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Deal Funeral in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Carl Lee Stover officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Gallipolis, Ferry, WV. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM. Deal Funeral Home is serving the Family.
