Velma A. Wroten, 74, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away January 15, 2019, while at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 30, 1944, in Putnam County, WV, a daughter of the late Harmon Wilcoxen and the late Mary Wray Wilcoxen. She was a homemaker and attended College Hill Church in Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harmon & Mary Wilcoxen; husband, Dewey Wroten; son, Mark Wroten; brothers, Rex, Kenny, and Leslie Wilcoxen; grandson, Eddy Wroten; and other extended family members.

Velma is survived by six children, Caroline (John) Jones of Point Pleasant, Loretta (Curtis) McConihay of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Ed (Brook) Wroten of Point Pleasant, Paul Wroten of Gallipolis Ferry, Scott (Erica) Wroten of Point Pleasant, and Dewey Wroten of point Pleasant; ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren as well as other extended family members. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2 PM, with Pastor Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pete Meadows Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 12-2 PM prior to the service.
