Valerie Jean Porter, 60 of Gallipolis, OH, entered into rest on July 16th, 2026. She was born to the late Harold and Viettia Porter on January 20th, 1966.

Valerie worked for AEP as a welder for many years, and she loved her work. She also enjoyed going to casinos and the dog track. Valerie was known for living her life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Viettia Porter, as well as her brother, Harold Porter Jr., sister, Debra Henry, stepbrothers, David and Danny Darst, and stepsister, Debbie McKinney.

Valerie is survived by her three brothers, Mike (Michelle) Porter, Terry (Julie) Porter, and Steve (Bridget) Porter. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, her nieces, Tiffany Porter, Brianna White, Terra Porter, Allison Porter, Teshia Sines, Taylor Porter and Lindsay Clark, and her nephews, Trey Porter, Robbie Henry, Ryan Henry, Steven Porter, John Porter, Damon Porter, Hunter Porter, and Troy Wood. Also left to cherish her memory are her stepmom, Georgia Porter, and her stepbrother Jerry Darst.

To honor Valerie's wishes, a graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20th, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV. Preacher Bert Flora will be officiating the service.
