Thomas Knox Fisher, 90, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. Tom was born January 16, 1933, the son of the late James and Mildred Fisher. He was a 1950 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. Tom owned and operated Fisher's Department Store, Shopper's Mart, and Fisher Fundraising.
Tom was a loyal member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. He was a member of Minturn Lodge No.19, Point Pleasant Chapter #75 Order of the Eastern Star, and a founding member of the Point Pleasant High School Alumni Association. Tom was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed reading books, painting pictures, and working puzzles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Wilma Fisher, daughter Denise Buchanan, and brother Jim Fisher.
Tom is survived by two daughters Diane Epling, and Debbie (Mike) Young, and a son-in-law Bill (DeDee) Buchanan. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Tommy Epling, B.J. (Amber) Buchanan, Nikki (Brandon) Roush, Travis (Whitney) Epling, and Ryan (Devin) Young. Tom was a proud great-grandfather to Torrie, Trinity, and Tanner Epling, Trey and Andrew Buchanan, Havin, Brynn, and Bralee Roush, Harlee, Young, and Miles Epling. He is also survived by his great-great-grandchildren Tillie and Teller Mayes.
Tom's life will be remembered with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Ronnie Tote officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church.
