Tangela Y (Tangie) Ashworth Thornton 52, of Leon, WV left this world with her sister and daughter by her side at Huntington Cabell Hospital after fighting to recover from a stroke she had two months ago.

Tangie or Tang as her friends and family called her was a homemaker. She was a awesome cook and enjoyed cookouts and her time spend with her beloved family. She grew up in Hurricane and started her family in Letart, WV. She gained so many friends along the way. She loved vacations with her family in Daytona Florida.  She was quite the sportsman in her love of hunting and fishing.

Tangie was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents John and Minnie Ashworth of Hurricane WV and her Maternal Grandparents Elbert and Mary Cooper of Milton WV.

Tangie was survived by her loving parents Paul and Sheila Ashworth, sister Malena Ashworth, daughter Jennifer Thornton, Granddaughter Aubree Thornton, niece Brittney Ashworth all of Letart WV along with many aunts, uncles and cousins that love and miss her.

In keeping with Tangie's wishes there will not be a viewing. A short graveside funeral will be held at Morgan Cemetery in Leon WV on Saturday, January 23rd 2021 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Tangie's name at Deal Funeral home.
