Sherry Lynn Mayes, 68, passed away at Rivers Health on October 5, 2025. She was born to Elmer and Donna Short.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Elmer Short, mother-in-law, Betty Mayes, father-in-law, Edison Mayes, sister-in-law, Nancy Short.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Roy Mayes. Mother, Donna Short, son, Jason (Marie) Mayes, grandchildren, Andrea (Josh) Swisher, Desiree Mayes, Great Grandkids, Blake Ferguson, Addison Swisher, Kayce Swisher. brother, Billy Short, niece, Alissa (Rich) Raymond, great niece and nephew, Marli Raymond, Tyler Raymond, Jeanne Roush and "special boys", Blake and JW Adkins.

Sherry enjoyed crafting, shopping. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

There will be no visitation at this time per family's request.

To honor her vibrant spirit, we invite you to join us for a celebration of her life. We will gather to share memories, laughter, and stories of the incredible person she was. Please feel free to bring your favorite side dish, dessert, or drink.
