Ruth Ann Birchfield, age 77, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home. Ruth was surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born on December 24, 1948, in Apple Grove, WV. Ruth was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Marie Duncan. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by five brothers: Charles, Eugene, Don, James Worthy and Burl Duncan as well as two sisters: Stella (Sissy) Plants and Edna Logan.

Ruth was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of Point of Faith Church in Point Pleasant, WV. Ruth was a faithful Christian and loved to stand up and sing for the Lord.  Ruth loved her church family and loved to share her testimony in church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Carl "Corny" Birchfield, children - Carl William (Sonia) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Joseph Roger (Chani) Birchfield of Apple Grove, WV, Sherry Ann (Johnnie) Wamsley of Point Pleasant, WV, and Priscilla Faye Mcgee of South Carolina. Grandchildren - Cody Birchfield, Evan Birchfield, Morgan Scarberry, Anna Fannin, Courtney Wallis, Chase Birchfield, Skylar Birchfield, Zachary McCormick, Hannah McCormick, and Jared McGee, as well as several great-grandchildren. Sisters - Renie Plants of Point Pleasant, WV, Vickie Young of Ona, WV, and Betty Barker of Glenwood, WV.

Services will be held Monday, June 8th, 2026, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with service at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove, WV. Pastor Bert Flora will be officiating.
