Russell Edward Leport, 76, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side, Tuesday March, 9, 2021. He was born in Henderson, WV to the late Andrew Leport and Hannah Marie (Wears) Leport.  Russell was retired from Clements Tree Nursery. He loved his family, horses and enjoyed reading the bible and loved to go dancing. Russell was kind hearted and would help anyone. He will truly be missed and always loved.  He attended Wyoma Pentecostal Church, Gallipolis Ferry, WV and  Church of Christ and Christian Union, Hartford, WV.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sheran Sue Leport and two son in laws, David Dovenbarger, Larry Tucker.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Dorothy K. (Goble) Leport of Henderson, WV,  daughters, Deloris (Odell) Tucker of Robertsburg, WV, Sandra Dovenbarger of Henderson WV, son, Timothy R. (Melba) Leport of Letart, WV, grandchildren, Ethan S. Dovenbarger of Gallipolis, Ohio, Jacob A. Dovenbarger of McArthur, Ohio, Isaac R. Leport of Letart, WV, Joshua A. Leport of Letart, WV, stepchildren, Wanda and Randy Smith of Mason, WV, Jim and Tawna Gibbs of Henderson, WV, Wendy Tucker of Pomeroy, Ohio, step grandchildren Sadie Woodard, of New Haven, WV, Brian Smith of Mason, WV, Sashia Carper of Point Pleasant, WV, Jessie Gibbs of Ashton Upton, Heather Gibbs of Henderson, WV, Dana Blake of Point Pleasant, WV, Jamie Gibbs of Henderson, WV, David Tucker of Pomeroy, Ohio, Morgan Tucker of Henderson, Ky, and fourteen great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Rogers Cemetery Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Pastor Hudson will be officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to graveside service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Pallbearers will be Tim Leport, Morgan Tucker, Cody Schwartz, David Tucker, Honorary Pallbearers are Jacob Dovenbarger and Ethan Dovenbarger.  Social distancing will be observed and face masks will be required.
