Roy Junior Smith, 79, of Apple Grove, WV went home to be with the Lord with his loving wife and children at his side at home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born on December 12, 1944, a son to the late Clarence Smith and Vergie Gillispie Smith. Roy was an active member of Moore's Chapel Church. He was employed at Martha White for 10 years and Parks for12 years. He loved serving the Lord and telling others about God. He loved being with his family and friends. Roy had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Everyone enjoyed hearing his hunting and fishing stories!

He was preceded in death by, Parents; Clarence and Vergie Smith, Sisters; Ruth O'Brien and Elisabeth Black, Brothers; Warren Smith and Pete Smith.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Christine Sue Smith of Apple Grove, Children; Sons, Bradley (Brook) Smith of Ashton, David Smith of Apple Grove, Shawn Smith of Apple Grove and Matthew (Jessie) Smith of Antwerp, OH, Daughters; Mary Kathern (Jerry) Cobb of Glenwood, and Janet Smith of Ashton. He also leaves behind Brother; Mike Smith, Sisters; Wanda Morgan, Donna Smith and Gail Roy. Roy was a loving grandpa to his nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Burial will follow at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Ashton, WV. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
