Roy A. Daugherty, 77, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away September 10, 2019, surrounded by family at his home. He was born February 21, 1942, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late John Daugherty and the late Lula Mae Wilcoxen Daugherty. He worked for the WV Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector. He served his country honorably in the US Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Hester Ivy Daugherty; Sister,  Loretta Jean Fezzel

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Terry) Cullen of Letart, WV, and Tammy Thompson of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Amber (Steve) Pursley of Sandyville, WV, Kevin (Chelsea) Thompson of Teays Valley, WV.  J.D. (Heather) Thompson of Point Pleasant, Derek (Brittany) Newell of Gallipolis Ferry, step grandson, Travis Cullen;  eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Morgan Mitchell Daugherty and Larry Daugherty of Lithia, FL. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, at 12 PM, with Jessie Nott officiating. Burial will follow in Eckard Chapel Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Sunday, September 15, from 4-6 PM.
