Rocky Lynn Pearson, 65, of West Columbia, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on October 6th, 2026.
Rocky was born on January 2nd, 1961, in Mason County, the son of the late Joyce (McDermott) and Gilbert Pearson.
Rocky retired from Pleasant Valley Hospital Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he proudly served as “THE Maintenance Man.” Rocky truly loved his job and more importantly, the residents he met along the way. Before Pleasant Valley Hospital, Rocky owned and operated R & S Furniture Store for many years. He had a lifelong passion for antiques, auctions, flea markets, and yard sales. Rocky worked on and off for years helping his brother when needed at Rick Pearson Auction Co.
Rocky was married to the love of his life, the late Saybra Ann (Stowers) Pearson. Rocky loved Saybra will all his heart and after her passing, spent the remaining years trying his best to catch up with her. On October 6th, he finally made it. We can only imagine the conversation when he arrived, or the dance with her that he’s been longing for. Rocky took kitchen dancing seriously.
Rocky leaves behind five children: Brey Lynn Gheen, Rocky “Luke” Pearson, Nick Pearson, Tiana Stowers Allen, and Elisha Jackson, along with what can only be described as a whole football team of grandchildren: Kyra Lynn, Kole, Kash, Kingston, Hunter, Kazden, Rylah, Nikole, Hailey, Josey, Marley, Billie, Xavier, Gareth, Anneliese, Gage, Gavin, and Trendon, and- because apparently the roster isn’t quite full yet-TBD. Yes, TBD. Because with this family, nobody was willing to officially rule out another grandchild. He also leaves behind two beautiful great-granddaughters: Zikiyah and Nova Jackson. And let’s be honest- 19 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren means Rocky didn’t just have a family tree, he had an entire family forest.
Rocky is survived by his sister-in-law Pamela Shelton, His brother Rick Pearson, and sister, Kathy Voshel, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his baby sister, Samantha Lavender.
Rocky loved his family fiercely and his friends deeply. He had a personality that could fill a room, a sense of humor that could get him into trouble, and a heart so big. He was one of a kind. Stubborn, funny, hardworking, loving, and kind.
His family will miss his stories, his laughter, his jokes and humor, his spontaneous dancing no matter when or where, his willingness to help, his protection, his listening ear, and his knowledge to having the answer to everything. No matter when or where, if we needed him, he was coming,
In honor of Rocky, turn up the music, dance a little, buy something completely unnecessary, go fishing, play a game of poker, have a cold Busch Light or a Mountain Dew. And most importantly, hug the people you love. Because that’s the kind of goodbye Rocky would appreciate.
A visitation in honor of Rocky will be held on Monday, October 12th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV.
Deal Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pearson family.
