Robert Scott Austin, 60, of Gallipolis, OH passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 13, 2023, at home. He was born on November 4, 1962, a son to the late Oden Austin Sr and Eleanor Patterson. After graduating from Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1981, he attended Marshall University an obtained his degree in engineering. Scott was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 27.

He is preceded in death by, Parents; Oden (Eleanor) Austin, Brother; William Patterson, Sister; Dreama Miller, Niece; Mitzi Austin and Nephew; Bradley Patterson.

Scott is survived by; Brothers; Michael (Hilda) Austin, Oden (Donna) Austin II, Terry (Lori) Austin, Sister; Holley (Mike) Duncan, Brother-in-law; Keith Miller, Sister-in-law; Peggy Patterson. He also leaves behind special nephew; Oden "Bubby" (Heather) Austin III and special friends; Shawn and Mitch. Scott will be missed by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18,2023, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Bill Deem. Burial will follow at Austin Hope-McLeod Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to service on October 18, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
