Richard Lee Connolly I (Rick) 67, passed away suddenly on March 10, 2021 from a heart attack. He was born July 8, 1953 in Mason, WV, by the late L. Bernard and M. Lynn (Gill) Connolly. He graduated from Wahama High School in 1972. He was a retired plant operator of the former Phillip Sporn Power Plant and was a US Army Veteran.  Rick was known growing up as a talented musician and instrument repairman and maker. He was always the studious kind and enjoyed learning all he could of his various and vast interests, his knowledge was endless. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed traveling, music and most of all fishing. He also enjoyed history and was avid in genealogy, of which he loved to share stories passed on from generation to generation.

Rick is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a infant brother David Connolly.

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Connolly Yost (Aaron) and his son and best friend, his name sake Richard "Lee" Connolly II, five grandchildren, Chantel Goeglein (Brandon), Evin Bauer, Dakota Connolly, Shayna Connolly, Chase Connolly, two great grandchildren, Connor and Carly Goeglein. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike Connolly, Charles Connolly and Randy Connolly, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins, all of who meant so much to him.

Rick's wishes were to be cremated, therefore there will not be a funeral service. As he would say, " There is no sense in all the fuss, just send up a thought (or two)" He will be missed so much.  Deal Funeral Home Point Pleasant, WV is serving the family.
