Rex Harding White, 96, of Mason, WV, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 28, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 31, 1921, on a farm in Kettle, WV, (Roane County), a son to the late Romie White and Lessie Moore White. He was a retired boilermaker and belonged to Boilermakers Local Union #667 in Winfield, WV, for over 60 years. He trained in Vancouver, WA, and helped build the ships for WW II. He worked in many power plants across the U.S. After retiring he and Sarah, his beloved wife of 63 years, spent the winters near lake Okeechobee, Fla. He loved football, baseball, and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He had a quick wit, and so many friends, and was loved by many. Most of all he was a Christian.
He is preceded in death by his parents Romie and Lessie White; his beloved wife of 63 years, Sarah Horton White; his brothers, Sidney and Herbert White; sisters, Sybil White and Doris White Hurlow.
He is survived by his brother, Romie Elton White of Cross Lanes, WV; sister, Shirley Lewis of West Columbia, WV; brother-in-law, James Hurlow of Mason; sister-in-law, Etta Sergent of Reedy, WV; special niece Deanna Stewart who was like a daughter to Rex and Sarah and many other special nieces and nephews; and special friend, Vinida Randolph of New Haven, WV.

The family would like to thank Dr.Tayengco and staff for their care, Pleasant Valley Hospital, Katrina, Vicki, Tina, Lisa, and Samantha, and anyone else who helped with his care.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Plesant, WV, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Clyde Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in the Billy Hunt Cemetery on Kettle Road in Roane County.
