Randy Worten Stephens, 62, of West Columbia, WV, known to so many in Mason County and surrounding areas as Santa, took his final flight north, Tuesday January 25, 2022, as gentle snowflakes swirled and while surrounded by his family. He was born May 24, 1959, a son to Cora Mae Stephens and the Late Wilbur Stephens. Randy was a member of the Harvey Chapel Church.
He is preceded in death by his father; Wilbur Stephens, Stepfather; Epa Rollins, In Laws; Ken (Judy) Fry, Brother; Brian "Doddle" Stephens; Sister, Patricia Lambert, Brother-in-Law; George Wooten.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 23 years; Dena Fry of West Columbia, WV, Sons; Chris (Lindsey) Stephens of Knoxville, TN, Jeremy (Jessalynn) Stephens of Ripley, WV, Byron (Sarah) Higginbotham of Hartford, WV, and Brett Higginbotham of Point Pleasant, WV, Mother; Cora Rollins of Letart, WV, Sister; Tammy Stephens of Point Pleasant, WV, Grandchildren; Jaiden Stephens, Selah Stephens, McKenzie Rose Stephens, Haven Lilly Stephens, Bishop Stephens, Samantha Higginbotham, Michael Higginbotham. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law; Leah (Mike) Schwetschenau of Cincinnati, OH and Brother-in-law; Rich Lambert of Leon, WV. Randy will be missed by many extended families, friends, and fur babies.
Through the years, he touched so many lives being Santa in the community, he enjoyed just jumping in his Santa suit running to the schools, neighborhoods, waving at all the buses to put a smile on the children's face.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Tracy Durst Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Social distancing and face masks are required for everyone's safety. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
