Paul Allen Pickens, 61, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away peacefully with his wife and son by his side on Sunday, August 20, 2017. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Specialist (SP4) crew chief on a Chinook helicopter in the 180th Aviation Company during the Vietnam War. He also worked at the Goodyear Plant for over 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise Pickens; brothers, Michael Pickens and Charles "Chuck" Pickens.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Byer Pickens; and son, Paul W. Pickens; brothers and sisters, Philip Pickens, Sharon Rogers, Sheila Carlisle, and Angela Lambert; and his special dog Captain Gunner.

Funeral services will be held at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Joe Nott officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens with full military graveside rites observed. They will be conducted by American Legion Post #23 in Point Pleasant, and the WV Army National Honor Guard from Charleston, WV.
