Opal Marie Morse, 74, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born February 3, 1947, in Gallipolis, OH to the late Jentress and Stella Rose. Opal graduated from Point Pleasant High School Class of 1964 and earned her master's degree in Biological and Physical Science/Speech at Marshall University Class of 1968. She retired from the Mason County Board of Education with 38 years.  In 1999, She received West Virginia Teacher of the Year. Opal had a love for theatre an the arts. She directed several community plays at Fort Randolph.

She is preceded in death by parents; Jentress and Stella Rose, Sister; Lois Monroe, and Brother; Thomas Rose.

Opal was survived by her loving husband of 44 years; Stephen Morse of Point Pleasant, WV, Daughters; Wendy Vaughan of Point Pleasant, WV, Jessica Morse of Point Pleasant, WV, Granddaughters; Alexandria (Joe) Barton of Mason, WV, Emily Eads, Elizabeth Eads of Gallipolis, OH; Grandson, Milo Thornton of Boston, MA, Great Grandson; Kendrick Barton of Mason, WV, Niece; Roxanne Weaver of Point Pleasant, WV. She will be missed by many great nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held per Opal's request. There will be a celebration of her life at the convenience of the family, at a later date. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
