Opal Virginia Hughes, 93, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Abbyshire Place in Gallipolis, Ohio. She is born November 2, 1929, a daughter of the late Gordon Hughes and Dicie Hall Hughes. She loved to babysit children.

She is preceded in death by, Parents; Gordon (Dicie) Hughes, Brothers; Edzel Hughes and Furman Hughes, Sisters; Inez Denny, Leva Hughes, Enna Newman, Beulah Clark, and Reba Hughes, Niece; Carol Young, and Nephew Ralph Newman.

Opal is survived by Sister; Ruth Hughes, Nieces; Rosemary Lewis, Lynn Hall, Pam Marcinco, Minnie Mayhugh, Ann Rawson, Nephew; David Denny. She had a special caregiver, Wanita Pullins. Opal will be missed by many extended family and friend.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 10th, 2023, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow at Harmony Baptist Cemetery in Southside, WV. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
