Okey K. Simpkins, 85, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Arbors of Gallipolis, Ohio, with his loving family at his side. He was born August 14, 1931, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late Ed Simpkins and Ivy Litchfield Simpkins. He was a farmer and a grinder at the Malleable Iron plant.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Simpkins; two brothers, Chester and Melvin Simpkins; two sisters, Faye Henry and Beulah Nibert.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bonnie Siders Simpkins of Gallipolis, OH; son, Kenneth (AnnaMae) Simpkins of Gallipolis; grandsons, Travis (Cassie) Simpkins and Cody (Ashley) Simpkins, both of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; great-grandchildren, Macie, Bryar, and Rae Lynn Simpkins all of Gallipolis Ferry; sister, Juanita (Homer) Matheney of Point Pleasant, WV; brother, Wilber Simpkins of Deleware, OH; sisters-in-law, Norma Jones, Jean Siders, Donna Siders, and Helen Siders; and brother-in-law, Les Anderson. He will be greatly missed by all.


Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday April 19, 2017, at the Deal Funeral Home with Rev. James Blaker officiating. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio.
