Oden C. Austin, 91, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, January 31, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26, 1926, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late Archie Austin and Edna Barker Austin. He was a Riverboat Captain for AEP River Division. He was also a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. He was a friend to everyone he met.

He is preceded in death with his parents by his loving wife, Eleanor J. Patterson Austin; son, William "Lee" Patterson; and granddaughter, Mitzi Austin.

He is survived by his loving children; daughters, Holley (Mike) Duncan of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Dreama (Keith) Miller of Gallipolis, OH; sons, Mike (Hilda) Austin of Point Pleasant, Oden C. (Donna) Austin of Spring City, Tenn., Terry (Lori) Austin of Point Pleasant, Robert Austin of Gallipolis, OH, and Oden C. (Heather) Austin III, whom he raised as his own, of Middletown, DE; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew; and a host of friends. He will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 2 PM, at the Henderson Church of Christ in Henderson, WV, with Pastor Bill Deem officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the church on Saturday from 1-2 PM, prior to the service at the church.
