Melissa Dawn (Belcher) Carter, 45, of Leon, WV passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, unexpectedly at home. She was born in Man, WV to the late Billy Jo Belcher and Melva Workman.  Melissa graduated from Man High School Class of 1994. She enjoyed watching the stars, collecting rocks, marbles, loved her cats and taking pictures.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Cum (Gladys) Workman, Homer "Junior" (Dorothy) Belcher, baby daughter; Danielle Carter, Stepfather; Ray Maynard, Cousin; Trina Trent.

Melissa is survived by her mother; Melva Maynard of Leon, WV; sons, Derek Todd (Donna) Belcher and Joseph Glendon Carter both of Point Pleasant, WV, Aunts and Uncles; Freddy (Florence) Belcher of Man, WV, Jeff (Ronda) Belcher of Man, WV, Thelma (Walter) Trent of Point Pleasant, WV, Jeremai Justice of Man, WV, Cora Ballerd of Man, WV, Kenny Workman of Man, WV, Harold (Charlette) Workman of Point Pleasant, WV, Jerry (Nelly) Workman of Alburn,WV, Rufes Workman and Patricia Gibson of Point Pleasant, WV, Johnny (Loretta) Workman of TN, Robert (Naomi) Workman of Man, WV, Special Cousin Sandy Grimmett of Point Pleasant, WV and Marlena Vance, sister; Crystal, Heather and Donna Lynn, Brothers; Hubert Ray, Ray Jr, Brian Keith, Steven Darrell. She will be missed by many extended family, friends and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family with Cecil Bartram officiating. Deal Funeral Home will be serving the family.
