Maurice Robert Mayes "Toddy" died 01/31/2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer and other related illnesses. He was the son of the late Maurice A Mayes and Nancy R Hite Mayes.

He was preceded in death by his older sister Sonya Jo Call.

He is survived by his twin sister Maury R Mayes-Clendenin (Bob), nieces Candie Bishop (Sam), Kennah Pridemore-Criste, Becky Kahle(Eric), nephews Lance Call(Marianne), Todd Dean Pridemore(Tracie), and Keith Allen Pridemore (Kim) and a very special friend Fred Gaul along with many great nieces and nephews.


Toddy was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School class of 1960. He also
attended WVU and Graduated from Marshall University with degrees in French and History. He taught at Kyger Creek High School for 30 years. Toddy was a member of Christ Episcopal Church Pt Pleasant, Kiwanis Club, Sons of the American Revolution, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and a Lifetime member of the Pt Pleasant River Museum. His hobbies included Barbershop singing with the Treble Makers Gallipolis Ohio, Kanawha Kordsmen Charleston WV and the Thundertones of Huntington WV. He loved playing the piano and had a passion for Civil War History, Painting , Horticulture and travel.


Services will be held on February 4th, at Christ Episcopal Church in Point
Pleasant , with the Reverend Raymond Hage and Reverend Marie Mulford
officiating. Visitation begins at 10:00-11:00 with services following. Interment will at be Kirkland Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are: Todd Dean Pridemore, Keith Allen Pridemore, Lance Call, Kylenn Criste, Bob Clendenin, Sam Bishop and Honorary Pallbearer Michael Joe Criste.

Services will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church in Point Pleasant, WV, Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 11 AM, with Rev. Raymond Hage and Rev. Marie Mulford officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the church from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Todd's memory for a scholarship fund at Ohio Valley Bank, 328 Viand St, Point Pleasant, WV, 25550.
