Mary Jane Sayre, 87, formerly of Point Pleasant, WV, went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2018 while at Darst Group Home in Pomeroy, Ohio.  She was born July 25, 1930, in Letart, WV, a daughter to the late Fred Shields and Myrtle Canter Shields. She was a Personel Secretary at the Philips Sporn and Mountaineer Power Plants where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of Trinity U.M. Church in Point Pleasant, and attended the First Baptist Church in Gallipolis, Ohio. She loved western style square dancing with her husband of over 45 years, Cecil Sayre. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Myrtle Shields, and her loving husband of over 45 years, Cecil Sayre.

She is survived by her loving son and his wife, Paul & Cheryl Sayre of Hartford, WV; grandchildren, Candace & Cory Miller of Point Pleasant, Kristen & Scott Hussell of Mason, WV, and Chad & Barbara Sayre of Norfolk, VA; and great grandchildren, Gracie and Maggie Hussell, and Morgan and Cole Miller. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Darst Group Home in Pomeroy for the excellent care they gave Mary Jane. They treated her like family.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 12 PM, with Pastor Jeff Mayfield officiating. A private burial will follow the service at Hopewell Church Cemetery in Mt. Alto, WV. Friends may visit the family at the funertal home from 11 AM -12 PM prior to the service.
