Mary A Lanz, 89, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to the Heavenly father on Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020.

She was born July 12, 1931, in Wichita, KS, to the late Rev. Parker and Edna Husselton. She was second out of six siblings. On September 9, 1950, she married Robert Dale Lanz, who preceded her in death in 1994.

She was employed by the WV Department of Agriculture for many years. She and her late husband Robert (Bob) Lanz were foster parents to 27 children in WV.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Rev. Philip and Irene Lanz of Cross Lanes, WV. Richard (Rick) and Shelia Lanz of Gallipolis Ferry, WV: Five grandsons and their wives, Cody and Courtney Lanz of Winston-Salem, NC, Philip and Lauren Lanz of Plainfield, IN, Rev. Trevor and Hannah Lanz of Huntington, WV, Nathan Lanz of Cross Lanes, WV, and Beau and Cassidy Lanz of Fairmont, WV: Five great-grandchildren Claire and Cora Lanz of Winston-Salem, NC, Judah and Gideon Lanz of Plainfield, IN, and Piper Lanz of Huntington, WV: Two sisters, Dorothy Roberts of OK, and Barbara and (Clyde) Hobbs of TX: Many nieces and nephews.

Mary Lanz was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and her brother; Bud, and her sisters, Lois, Evelyn.

A memorial service will be held Monday at Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis, Ohio at 11:00 in the morning. Due to COVID the memorial will be family only; however, the family would like to invite all to come via FB live @ Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene.
