In Loving Memory of Manford Lynn "Butch" Bauer (1945-2025)

Manford Lynn Bauer, affectionately known to friends and family as "Butch" passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by love on May 23, 2025, at the age of 79.

A proud graduate of Point Pleasant High School class of 1963, Butch lived a full and vibrant life, always marching to the beat of his own drum--or, more accurately, the strum of a guitar. In the 1970's he owned a music shop on Main Street in Point Pleasant, a local haven for musicians and dreamers alike. Known in shooting circles by the colorful Moniker Sierra Madre Slim, he was an accomplished marksman who held many records and a deep love for the sport.

Butch wore many hats in his lifetime: professional photographer, jewelry entrepreneur, devoted employee at M&G Polymer in Apple Grove, and was a dedicated member to the bowling league. He also had a need for speed in his younger days, often found riding his motorcycle with a sense of freedom that matched his personality.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Rosita Bauer, Father Manford H. Bauer, Mother Evelyn Gleason Bauer and brother Sam Bauer.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roslyn Bright and Joshua Bauer; grandchildren, Braxton Bauer, Trenton Bright, Jenna Bright, Jason Hughes, Ethan Bauer. Great-Grandchildren, Ezra, Brentley, Willow and Myles; and his "Best Buddy" Mike Hughes.

Butch always lived life on his terms, with grit, laughter and a big heart big enough for all who knew him. He knew no stranger.

He will be missed beyond measure but never forgotten.

A viewing will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. There will be no funeral service or burial.
