On Monday morning March 27th, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV, Lora L. Neal Chapman (2/25/1952) of Point Pleasant, WV, peacefully passed away due to complications of fighting lymphoma with her family at her side.

Lora is survived by her devoted and loving husband  of 47 years, Stanley Eugene Chapman, her children: David "Pete" Chapman of Evans,  WV, Samantha Chapman of Point Pleasant, WV, and Shawn (Wendy) Chapman of Portville, NY;  her grandchildren: Corey Andrix, Kaci (Jason) Russell, Addyson Chapman, Brooke Entingh, Aryn  Chapman and Shawn Trade Chapman; her seven great-grandchildren; her siblings: Diana Whitt, Susan (Vince) Knight, Dreama Pennycook and Darlene (John) Bagshaw; brothers, Michael Neal and Kenny Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ortho Neal and Virginia Mayes Neal; siblings: Joseph Neal, Tommy Neal, Barbara Cobb, Pat Wilson and Debbie Georgi; and one granddaughter Brennan Ellis.

Lora had been retired from 20 years of employment as a property manager for Baker Rentals of Columbus, OH and returned to Point Pleasant where she spent her time remodeling and redesigning her home, tending her flower gardens and yard design-earning Yard of the Month designation multiple times, shopping for bargains, playing games, hosting yard sales, enjoying her front porch visits with friends and spending time with her family.

Lora Chapman should be remembered for her fierce loyalty to her family, her expert negotiation skills, her incomprehensibly good luck, her green thumb, and her potatoes-whether the gallons of potato salad she made for Millie's restaurant, her potato soup, or the fried breakfast potatoes her grandchildren insisted on at each visit.

The family will assemble to receive visitors for a viewing on Wednesday, March 29, from 6-8 pm at Deal Funeral Home at 1401 Kanawha St Point Pleasant, WV, and she will be laid to rest at Kirkland Memorial Gardens following services also to be held at Deal Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 pm  Thursday, March 30th to be officiated by Carl "Boxer" Swisher. The family invites the public to join them for this celebration of the life and legacy Mrs. Lora Chapman.
