Lois Jean (Radcliffe) Jordan, 84, of Mt. Alto, WV, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was born July 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Reverend Foreman Lloyd Radcliffe and Hattie Murl (Wilfong) Radcliffe, in Upshur County, West Virginia. She loved singing and listening to gospel music, and was a member of the Jordan-Weaver family singers, traveling and singing for the Lord for many years. Jean was a Cancer Survivor of 13 years. She loved her family and most importantly the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Mount Zion Church on Thomas Ridge Road in Mason County.
She worked at the S.S. Kresge Department Store in Columbus, Ohio, and she worked at the Sylvania Plant in Point Pleasant, WV. Jean was a member of the Upshur County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Milford Franklin Jordan of nearly 60 years, and by sisters Tressie Rhodes, Wilma, Steele, Rosalee Koon, and by brothers Ralph Leslie Radcliffe, Monzel Clyde Radcliffe, and Robert Lee Radcliffe.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Dianne (Floyd) Watts of Wayne County, WV, and Linda Darlene (Bob) Taylor of Paducah, KY, and one son Milford "Bub" Jordan of Mt. Alto, WV, two sisters, Clela Barnette of Newark, OH, and Betty Carpenter of Plain City, OH, five grandchildren; Melissa Jean (Ritchie) Taylor of Point Pleasant, Martha Dawn (Jeffrey) Watts of Wayne County, Seth Everett (Jennifer) Rardin of Wayne County, Zachary Carroll (Cindy) Rardin of Wayne County, and Craig Scott Bird of Leechburg, PA; eight great-grandchildren, Korey and Jordan Watts, Logan and Jaylin Rardin, Ethan and Lucas Rardin, all of Wayne County, Lyndee Jo and Macy Jean Taylor of Point Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in point Pleasant, WV, Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 1 PM, with Reverend Sampy Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Blaine Memorial Gardens in Cottageville. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home from 11-1 PM, prior to the service.
