Linden Elza Miller, 68, of Leon, WV passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2024, at home. He was born on the 18th of December 1955, a son to the late Leonard Earlie "Chap" Miller and Jeanne Sue "Granny Grump" McCoy-Miller. Linden was a 1973 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, he attended Marshall University, served his country in the United States Army from 1975 to 1979, he was 1994 graduate of the WV State Police Academy, he retired from the Mason County Sheriff's Department, where he worked as a Deputy, Dispatcher, and one of the county's 1st PRO Officers. Dad lived and breathed community service after retirement he loved nothing more than spending his time with his grand kids and volunteering with Mason County Special Olympics, Camp Sunshine, the Mason County Fair, where he served as Chairman of the Farm Crops department and whatever other shenanigans I could drag him into….dad loved the outdoors especially spending time in the woods hunting and cherished his time with friends at deer camp and gun shows.

Linden is survived by his brother, Grayson Joseph Miller, Sister, Melissa Sue Miller-Tibbetts (Richard) of Point Pleasant, WV, his children; Aaron Michael Miller of Clover, SC; Kristina Marie Kirker of Point Pleasant, WV, and Angela Michelle McCoy of Leon, WV. Linden leaves behind eight grandchildren to cherish his memories: Jacob Bennett, Cody Bennett, Robert Fisher, Amanda Flora, Thomas McCoy, Eliza McCoy, Francessica Flora, and EJ Flora. Linden also leaves seven great grandchildren that he was so proud of: Deegan, Zoey, Jayden, Jaylan, Harper, Zeke and Briar.

Also, Linden leaves behind to grieve him his fur companion, Athena, who was with him to the very end. As well as a host of folks adopted as "his kids" and family.

Dad always said you feed a friend, if you feed em more than once, they're no longer friends, their family and he was true to that he always loved and welcomed all the "strays" that I would drag home over the years.

Here is an excerpt from one of Linden's poems that I would like to share:

My life for me, we'll let me say as in tangible as it may be

I've gained from all I gave away and in liberating been set free

To find true love, to make true friends, to live the life you choose to live

That's all you're taking with you folks whenever this life ends.

There will be a Memorial Service to Celebrate Lindens Life on Saturday May 18, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Pine Grove Chapel Church in Leon, WV. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
