Lillian Maxine Chapman, formerly of Point Pleasant, WV passed away on 6/13/2021. She was born on 2/12/1929 to Ewing and Maude Steele (near Chapmanville, WV). She was one of eleven children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Paul J. Chapman, two sisters, Doris (Sally) Stollings and Nina Elkins as well as seven of her brothers Harl, Carl, Paul, Charles, Fred, Frank, and Bobby Steele.

Lillian is survived by one brother, David Steele, her children, Jeannie (and Gene) Martin and Steve (and Annie) Chapman as well as five grandchildren…Scott (and Stephanie) Martin, Todd (and Angie) Martin, Tammi (and Marcus Hill), Nathan (and Stephanie) Chapman and Heidi (and Emmitt) Beall.

Also, there are 13 surviving great grandchildren: Ashley (and Joe Sanchez), Brianna Martin, Luke (and Erin) Hill, Wesley Hill, Sam Hill, Gracee Martin, Kaleb Martin, Nathalie Chapman, George Chapman, Shepherd Chapman, Lily Beall, Josephine Beall and Sylvia Beall.  In addition, Sofia Sanchez is a great, great, grandchild, Ava is a great, great step-granddaughter, Stone Koehler is her great, great step-grandson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a loved and respected volunteer with the Pleasant Valley Ladies Auxiliary and Pleasant Valley Nursing Home.

A "home-going" celebration will be held with family and friends at Deal Funeral Home on Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. with visitation from 9-10 a.m. At 2p.m. in the afternoon Lillian will be laid to rest next to her beloved "P.J." at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill.
