On Monday October 8, 2018, Karen Jean Nibert Grass, 55, of Apple Grove, WV, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. Karen was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend.

Karen was born June 6, 1963 to Joyce Thornburg and William L. "Bud" Nibert.

She was preceded in death by her father, William L. "Bud" Nibert, sister, Connie I. Nibert; maternal grandparents, Harry and Margaret Smith; and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Nora Nibert.

She is survived by her husband, Luke (Tony) Grass of Apple Grove; mother, Joyce Thornburg of Apple Grove; stepmother, Vera Nibert of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; sisters, Tammy (Don) Lucas of Apple Grove, Pam (Clay) Moore of Rocky Mount, VA, Lisa Nibert Vinson of Eleanor, WV; brothers, David (Sandra) Nibert of Circleville, OH, and Willard (Cecil) & Lexie Nibert of Columbus, OH . She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 12-1 PM prior to the service.
