Karen Jeanett Bowman, 85, of Glenwood, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

She was born September 23rd, 1940, in Glenwood, WV, a daughter of the late Alvin and Mabel (Deal) Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Earlene McComas, Judy Vititoe, and Darla Sturgeon, and a nephew, Bret Vititoe.

Karen was a faithful member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. She enjoyed her retirement years, spending time with family and friends, and watching her great grandchildren grow up.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Brenda) Bowman of Ashton, WV; two grandchildren, Tabitha (Ian) Duff, and Travis (Whitley) Bowman; two great grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Duff; brother, Dwayne Bowman; sister, Geraldine Chapman and brother-in-law, Robert Sturgeon. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Valerie Stanley, David McComas, Troy Sturgeon, Tracy Chapman, and Tara Arrington, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Karen was lovingly referred to as "Mamaw B" by friends of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Karen will be remembered for her faith in the Lord,  her kindness, laughter, hugs, and the way she loved her family and friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Huntington for their loving care and support.

Service will be held at Deal Funeral Home on May 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bowman's Cemetery in Glenwood, WV. Pastor Ernie Bowser will be officiating.
