Joyce Darlene Sturgeon, 61, of Ashton, WV passed away Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, unexpectedly at home. She was born April 21, 1960, a daughter to Clarence "Milford" and Sadie Coleman. Darlene worked at Pleasant Valley Hospital for 18 years as a medical clerk. She enjoyed watching her sports, with football being her favorite and loved her fur babies. Darlene was an amazing mother to Trinity and Zach; she will be missed dearly by her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Sam, and Evie Sturgeon.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 40 years marriage; Roger Sturgeon, Daughter; Trinity (Jamie) Dean of Ashton, WV; Son, Zach (Tonya) Sturgeon of Ashton, WV, Grandchildren; Keylee and Keyton Dean of Ashton, WV, Millie Sturgeon of Ashton, WV, Audrey Burris of Ashton, WV, Parents; Milford (Sadie) Coleman, Sister; Kathy Tate of Salisbury, NC, Sister/Brother in Law; Kathy (Sam) Gooch of Milton, WV, Cara (Rick) Hicks of Circleville, OH; and several nieces, and nephews. Darlene indeed loved her family and most importantly loved babysitting her grandchildren, she watched them every day and was like a mother to them. She also enjoyed taking pictures, helping her mom and dad.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Charlie Langdon officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service. Burial will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Ashton. Social distancing and facemask are recommended for everyone's safety. Deal Funeral Home will be serving the family.
