Joseph Michael Antal,Jr. 76, of Southside, WV passed away peacefully on April 13, 2023, at home. He was born in Lebanon, PA on November 30, 1946, a son to the late Maxine Louise Antal and Joseph M. Antal, Sr. Joe graduated from Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1964.

He is preceded in death by, Parents; Joseph (Maxine) Antal, his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Williamson Antal, Cousin; Jim Wheeler.

Joe is survived by, Stepson; Robert Shawn Donohue and wife Amy Donohue. He loved and enjoyed the time he has spent with his grandchildren, Braxton Donohue, Brogan Donohue, Caiden Young, Colton Young, and Peyton Donohue. He also had one great granddaughter, Alaina Young and another great granddaughter due in October.

Joe is also survived by several cousins and other relatives. Among them are Vicki Counts, Ronie Wheeler, and Velma Patterson, Aunts; Elise Dunkle of Point Pleasant, WV, and her children, Bruce Dunkle and Lynn Humphries and Pamela Catlin (Pete) of Durham, NC and their children, Scot (Cheryl) Catlin, Heather Lowenthal (Elliot) Jun Nemitz (Stacy) and Joshua.

He proudly served in the Viet Nam and in Thailand. After he returned home, he was employed by Akzo Nobel in Gallipolis Ferry, WV until he retired in 2011. Joe was also a very active member at the American Legion Post 23 and Commander from 1988-1993.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Charlie Langdon officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. To honor him, a Military graveside service will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, WV. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
