Joanna Rose Baird-Nibert-McNeely, 69, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

She was born March 26th, 1957, in Apple Grove, WV, a daughter of the late Thurman Allen and Joy Ki (Halbleih) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Roger Nibert and brother, John Mark Smith.

Joanna retired as a Nurse's Aide and had worked at various local nursing homes. She was a Christian by faith.

Survivors include her husband, Tom McNeely of Point Pleasant, WV; son, Aaron Baird and his wife, Samantha of Henderson, WV; four grandchildren, Brayden Baird, Amber Baird, Cameron Baird, Alexia (Lexi) Baird; great grandchildren, Braelynn Rose Baird who was partially raised by Joanna along with five other great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, David Smith and his wife, Nancy of Louisville, KY, Daniel Smith of Point Pleasant, WV; two sisters, Judith Pennington and her husband, Ray of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Mary Fielder of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at 12:00 pm with pastors David Smith and Bert Flora officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, WV.
