Janice Lane Powell, 80, of Charleston, WV passed away on January 9, 2020. She was born June 16, 1939, in Boone County, WV, a daughter to the late Luther Price and Melinda Hooten Price. She was a homemaker and taught Sunday School at Jordan Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Powell Sr. and sons, James Powell Jr. and Ronald Powell.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Robert) Umberger of Charleston; sister, Peggy Duncan; two granddaughters, Amanda Elizabeth Powell of Charleston and Rebecca Mae (Justin) Miller of Sod, WV; two great-grandsons, James Michael Powell and Mason Gage Miller; and several extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 13 2020 at Deal Funeral Home at 1 PM with Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at the Beale Chapel Cemetery.
