James Loren Sims, 72 of Gallipolis, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, October 30, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born, November 4, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio to the late James and Clara (Smith) Sims. Jimmy loved working on old cars and playing and singing music. He was the pastor at Forest Glenn Independent Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle (Shelly) Marie Sims, grandson, James Levi Quenten Sims (Q-Bert) great granddaughter, Harlee Dawn Parsons, brothers, Vernon Ray Sims, David Thomas Sims, sister, Loretta Roush, grandparents, J. Wilbur (Pete) Sims and Letha Sims, Otho and Mary Elizabetrh Smith.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Kay (Starcher) Sims, son, James (Angela) Sims, grandchildren, Christopher Copley, Zack (Gloria) Harkins, Andrew Sims, Skyla (Jamie) Parsons, Zoe (Michael) Sims and Gracie Sims, great grandchildren, Shelly and Stella Harkins, Lauren McDonald, and Mason Copley, special nephew, Ryan Craig, special great niece Brooklea Smith and many nieces, nephews and friends. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Babygirl Sims. 

Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, funeral will follow with Pastor Junior Preston officiating. Burial will be at Centenary Cemetery, Centenary Ohio.
