James McComas, Jr., 83, passed away on November 12, 2020, while at St. Mary's Hospital.  He was born on August 19, 1937, in Cabell County, WV, to James McComas, Sr. and Freda Bailey McComas.  James was a retired welder and truck driver.  He was a member of Balls Chapel Church in Ashton, WV.

James married Betty in 1957 in Apple Grove, WV.  They were happily married for 63 years.

James was preceded in death by his parents James and Freda McComas; his brothers Richard, Joe, and William McComas; his sisters Lora Mae Stark, Annalee Smith, and Addie McComas; and his daughter Colleena (McComas) Clark.

James is survived by his spouse Betty of Fraziers Bottom, WV; his daughters Brenda (Robert) Clark of Lesage, WV and Angela (Dwight) Smith of Fraziers Bottom, WV; and his sisters Jeannie Waugh and Wylodine Setliff.  James had 14 grandchildren:  Aimee (Daniel) Hughes; the late James "Luke" Edmunds; Alex Bryan, Jr; Eric Bryan; Joshua Edmunds; Misty Clark; James (Brianna) Clark, III; Rachel (Patrick) Eason; Tonika Coleman; Haley Smith; Millie Smith; Penelope Smith; Jesse Smith; and Joel Smith; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no public services or visitation.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
