James S. DeWeese, 84, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born November 8, 1939, a son to the late Ray DeWeese and Ora Pickens DeWeese. James loved having company over to chat, enjoyed watching his game shows and nascar, he also enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by, Parents; Ray (Ora) DeWeese, Brothers; Basil, Cecil, Earl, Nate and Bill DeWeese, Sister; Wavie Ann Swink, Granddaughter; Amanda Shay Markham Duncan, Nephew; Roger "Lil Rog" DeWeese, Sister-in-law: Carolyn Harris and Elizabeth "Liz" Sayre.

James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marcella DeWeese, Children; Windy (Richard) Fauver, Sharon (Richard) Rainey, Alvin "Rick" Harris, and Sheryl (Joe) Hammond, Grandchildren; NaShayla Fauver, Richard "Alex" Fauver, Joe (Miranda) Herdman, April (Travis) Schultz, James (Kara) Markham and seven great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind, Sister; Doris Mae Roseberry, Brother; Roger (Wanda) DeWeese, Special Family Friend; Lyn Robinson and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Smith Church Cemetery, 10692 Waterloo Smith Church Road, Leon, WV with Pastor Keith DeWeese officiating. Visitation will be at Deal Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
