James Bernard Craddock, 96, of Point Pleasant, WV., passed away at Pleasant Valley Hospital, January, 12, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born February 20, 1921 in Kanawha County, WV., a son to the late John William and Pauline Henkel Craddock.
Jim is a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Point Pleasant. He was a decorated WWII Veteran. He was a gunner in a B-17 with over 26 bombing missions, including the first daylight bombing raid over Berlin, earning him the Army Distinguished Service Cross, Army Distinguished Flying Cross, and the U.S, Air Force Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Cluster, and Legion of Honor. He was also a member of Minturn Lodge #19, A.F.& A.M. of Point Pleasant, WV, where he received his 50 year pin, and also a member of the Pat Wilson Shrine Club of Point Pleasant, WV.
Besides his parents he was prececed in death by his loving wife Betty Bernadine Smith Craddock and her parents John Arch and Gertude
Virginia Smith. Also two Sons, John Craddock and Ron Craddock.
Jim is survived by his son Robert "Bob" Craddock of Point Pleasant,WV and his daughter- In- law Diane Craddock of Point Pleasant, WV; grandchildren, Jacqueline Ann (Alan) Lewis and Christina Lynn (Robert) McClaskey, both of Columbus, Ohio.
A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Richard Purchase officiating.
