Herman Ray Holcomb, 70, of Letart, WV, passed away January 2, 2020, while at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born April 5, 1949, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late Millard Herman Holcomb and the late Faye Louise Dunlap Grey. He was a deckhand for Amherst Towing until he became disabled. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard Holcomb and Faye Louise Dunlap Holcomb Grey; sister, Wanda Wamsley; and brother, Ronald Allen Holcomb.

He is survived by his daughters, Desirae Holcomb of Letart, and Kami Griffith of Gallipolis, OH; son Shannon Bland of Mason, WV; grandchildren, Logan Griffith, Hayden Griffith, and Addison Griffith; sisters, Ruth Bland of West Columbia, WV, Sharon Spencer of Point Pleasant, Bonnie Cogar of Point Pleasant, Carolyn Bienkoski of Pinesville, WV, Debra Holcomb of Gallipolis, Jo Ann Camp of West Columbia, Kathy Mallete of Mason, and Peggy Williams of Gallipolis. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, Monday, January 6, 2020, at 1 PM with Pastor Carl Swisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Brighton Cemetery in Leon. Friends may visit the family from 11-1 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the funeral home to help the family offset expenses for Herman.
