Hazel Virginia Rice Runion, 95, of Leon, WV went to heaven on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from Holzer ER with her family by her side. She was born May 30, 1926, in Leon, WV, a daughter of Lucian Dale Rice and Eva Alice Plants Rice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold O. Runion, Son; Philip Jeffery Runion, Brother; Clarence Rice, Four Sisters; Louise Wilford, Margaret Dotson, Grovie Taylor and infant sister Celistine Rice.

Hazel is survived by her children, Two Daughters; Sharon (Mike) Jones, Phyllis (Albert) Yester, Two Sons; Kevin (Kim) Runion, and Arnold ("Bud") Mary Runion, One Brother; Lawrence (Dean) Rice, Eight Grandchildren; Rebecca (Chuck) Chamberlin III, Michael (Erica) Jones, Julie (Noah) Clark, Sarah Yester, Angela (John) Neff, Otis Runion, Josh (Rebecca) Runion, Carey (Brian)Blain. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter: Karlee Temple. She will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Carol "Boxer" Swisher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow at Yauger Cemetery, Debbie Road, Leon, WV 25123. Social Distancing and Facemasks are recommended.
