Grady Lee Whitson, 68, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away surrounded by his family while at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born February 7, 1951, in Itmann, WV, a son to the late James Whitson and the late Edith Clay Whitson. He was a correctional officer at Lakin Correctional Facility where he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Whitson; sister, Elaine Whitson; and brother, Arnold Whitson.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 37 years, Sharin Whitson of Point Pleasant; sons, Grady (Tammy) Whitson Jr, and Jeremy Stephens of Point Pleasant; daughters, Angela Munyan of Point Pleasant, and Crystal Gardner of Gallipolis, OH; siblings, James Whitson, of Columbus, OH, Sonja Renfrow of Oak Hill, OH, Joan Lamb of Oak Hill, and Dreama Powell of Washington Courthouse, OH; grandchildren, Michael Munyan, Jesse Munyan, Sjonna Munyan, Shaea Gardner, Kristin Gardner, Tyler Whitson, Anthony Whitson, Kianna Whitson, and Violet Stephens; and great-grandchildren, Shaelee, Grayson, Evelyn, Charlotte, and Abriella is on the way. He will be sadly missed by all.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 5-7 PM, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Memorial will be at the convenience of the family.
