Geraldine Francis Putney, 76, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away at home with her loving family at her side, January 6, 2018. She was born February 20, 1941, in Mason County, WV, a daughter to the late Rabbi Leport and Harriette V. Bartrum. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; children, Sheila Hope Cremeans, and John Roger Blain; brothers, Denver Leport, Stephen Leport, William Leport, Ernest Leport, Clifford Leport, Gregory Leport, and sister Genevieve Lee.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Delbert Putney of Gallipolis Ferry; loving daughter Sandra Blain & Charlie of Parkersburg, WV; sons, Dwain Blain of Gallipolis Ferry, Michael Scott (Shelly) Blain of Apple Grove, WV, and Darrell (Tabitha) Putney of Gallipolis Ferry; sister, Loretta (James) Barnette of Gallipolis Ferry; and brother, John Franklin (Karen) Leport of Henderson, WV; nine grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at the Deal Funeral Home, with Pastor Tony Stover and Pastor Mark Mayes officiating.
