George A. McCarty, 84, of Hurricane, WV passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at home. He was born March 15, 1938, a son to the late George McCarty and Beulah Mayes. He adores playing gospel and country music with his guitar. George played alongside his bands, Sounds of Bluegrass, Rocky Mountain Boys and True Country. George loved driving his Peterbilt Truck and also had many friends from West Virginia clear to California that he loved to keep in touch with them.

He is preceded in death by, Parents; George (Beulah) McCarty, Mother to his children; Phyllis Rimmey-McCarty, Wife; Freda McCarty, Daughter; Sophia Roney, Brothers and Sisters.

George is survived by Sons; Allen (LeAnna) McCarty of Ohio, Michael McCarty of Ohio, Grandchildren; Mindy McCarty and Angie Clark, Casey Arellanos, George Nick McCarty, McKayla Jean McCarty and Jennifer McCarty, Great-Grandchildren; Drake Dent, Damien Dent, Nevaeh Ford, Kazdan McCarty and Aria McCarty. He also leaves behind special family, Daniel (Sasha) Payne and Daughter, McKenzie Payne. George will be missed by many extended family and friends.

He leaves a legacy behind by all who knew him. George loved unconditionally even through his stubbornness and bullheadedness. He was an amazing husband to Phyllis, whom he loved the day he seen her, they were sweethearts. He was a wonderful grandfather, who raised his grandchildren and loved his great grandchildren just as much. George always was willing to lend a helping hand from picking the children up from school to help anyway. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

A Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
