Garry Thomas "Tom" Roach, 84, of Henderson, WV, went to be with his Jesus and his savior on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born June 5, 1932 a son to the late Rev. Garry and Effie Birchfield Roach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Wallis and his in-laws, Elmer and Grace Kapp. Tom was a member of Faith Gospel Church, Gallipolis Ferry, WV. He was an Army Veteran and served in Korea. He enjoyed working in his garage, camping, hunting and fishing. In his younger years he and his family participated in building race cars and dirt racing. Tom retired from the Mason County Board of Education as a Bus Mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (Kapp) Roach,his son, Tony (Diana) Roach of Gallipolis Ferry, WV his precious grandchildren, Harrison (Michelle) Roach and Kelsey (Christopher) Mahoney of Parkersburg, WV. Three brothers, James Reynolds of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, John and (Sue) Reynolds of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Wesley "Sonny" (Marlene) Reynolds of Point Pleasant, WV. His constant companion his dog Precious and a host of family and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant, WV and Oddfellows Lodge of Point Pleasant, WV.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 1 P.M. at the Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry, WV with Pastor Josh Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV, with full military honors by the Army Honor Guard of Charleston, WV, and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant, WV.
