Freda J. McCarty, 76, of Hurricane, WV, passed away May 30, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 15, 1942, in Cabell County, WV, a daughter to the late Clayton Hinkle and Anna Keaton Hinkle. She was an accomplished cook and worked at several restaurants throughout the area. She loved music and was an avid dancer also. She was a Christmas fanatic and even had a news crew to come see her decorations. She loved tending her flowers, but especially enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will remain forever in their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Anna Hinkle.

She is survived by her loving husband, George A. McCarty of Hurricane, WV; daughters, Denise Plants of St. Albans, WV, Dee (Joel) Smith of Hurricane, Ann Lawson of Teays Valley, WV, and Vicki (Matt) Clark of Hurricane; grandchildren, Robbie Plants, Misty Hobbs, Gary Plants, Lee Smith, Greg Smith, Dylan Smith, Dustin Lawson, Samantha Clark, Mindy McCarty, Angie Clark, Nicholas McCarty, and Casey N. Arellanos; great-grandchildren, Devin, Robert, Stephen, Bailey, Tiarra, Timmy, Colton, Daniel, Oaklynn, Damien, Drake, Neveah, Kazdan, Aria, and baby Arellanos; as well as several extended family, friends, and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Sycamore Baptist Church in Hurricane, WV, Saturday, July 14,  2018, at 4 PM. Friends may visit the family at the church from 1-4 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Online condolences can be made at www.dealfh.com.
