Obituary

Floyd Elsworth Rayburn, 95, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away August 24, 2020 at Ravenswood Village. He was born September 21, 1924, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late John F. Rayburn and Rachel Peters Rayburn. He was a storeroom clerk at Stauffer Chemical until he retired. He was a member of Krebs Chapel Church. He was a past Mason County Fair Board President, and was a past Mason County Farm Museum Chairperson. He was also a former Mason County Conservation District supervisor. He loved farming, and tending his farm.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rachel Rayburn; his beloved wife, Virginia Rayburn; brother, Owen Rayburn; and sisters, Georgiana Bright and Mary Pullins.

He is survived by his son Eugene "Gene" (De) Rayburn of Longs, SC, and daughter, Anna Stewart of Crestline, OH; grandson, Nathan (Jennifer) Rayburn of Round Hill, VA; adopted son through love, Danny (Connie) Cummings; great grandchildren, Hannah Rayburn, and Ashley Rayburn; special grandchildren through love, Jonathan (Krista) Cummings, Elizabeth Cummings, and Trevor (Staci) Cummings; special great-grandchildren through love, Richard Haga, Brianna Haga, Geoffry Cummings, Ty Cummings, and Maci Cummings; as well as many extended family members, friends, and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

As per Floyd's wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Monday, August 31, 2020, with Danny Cummings officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Krebs Chapel Church or the Mason County Farm Museum. Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is serving the family.
